  1. Pastor Kevin Paulson Says:

The apostle Paul declares, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for every one that believeth” (Rom. 1:16). What Paul is saying is that the Biblical gospel provides power–power for forgiveness (Rom. 3:24; Eph. 1:7), and power for transformation (II Thess. 2:13; Titus 3:5).

It is this gospel which must be proclaimed to all the world–through the lives as well as the words of consecrated Christians.

The Bible is clear that both God and the world are waiting for this demonstration (see Rom. 8:18-19). The final events of earth’s history are being held in check until this demonstration is ready (Rev. 7:1-3). When it is time for the seventh angel to begin to sound–which signals the start of the final judgment–”the mystery of God shall be finished” (Rev. 10:7). And what is this “mystery of God,” according to the New Testament? “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27).

The apostle Peter writes of how the second coming is hastened by those who, by divine grace, become holy in their conversation and godliness, and are at last “found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless” (II Peter 3:10-14). The apostle John says much the same thing about readiness for the second advent (see I John 3:2-3).

It is this gospel, that which at last brings harmony betweem the lives and lips of Christians, which must be preached in all the world before the end of all things can come (Matt. 24:14
